Holy Week Adventure 2016 - Trekkers be like!

I'd like to take advantage of the Social Media from sharing this to you...

We were so privileged to get accommodated by this Family last March 25-26, 2016, that was Holy Friday and Black Saturday, in line with our trip to Bani Falls in Soccsksargen Region, together with my first cousins and their friends.

This is a gratitude to be considered in exchange of our physical stress as we have been walking along the road from Marahan, Marilog District, Davao City. From there, we walked under the heat of the sun of approximately 20 Kms, this is equivalent to 2 hours to get there at the Camp Site.

The Camp Site location is in Sitio Inamong, (Matigol), Arakan Valley, North Cotabato.

The area has electricity but is limited to one chargeable led light bulb in every house and one female plug outlet. This plug outlet is intended for charging of cellphones and lights from visitors and trekkers if they'll get in the house.

When we have reached and just arrived in the Camp Site, we have been given our options to choose where to stay. As so, we chose their house, since one of our friends already know this family.
We only have to pay Php 25.00 each for the service fee, including the monitoring of their visitors, of course, to us.

Their house is built in the last location in the Camp Site, in front of their Day Care Center. It is made of light materials, it's like a "bahay kubo".

Meanwhile, to finally send you my objectives from posting this, I would really want to call the attention of the Government, maybe both Local and National; the people who lived there are "Lumad People", and that they really need your assistance, financially, morally and everything. I know that the Local Gvt are starting to provide their basic needs, but this is not enough. They are far from the Municipality and the Market, I mean, very far more than you can imagine. They used to eat meals -rice and sardines at all.

But they have this talent in making bracelets/anklets and bags made from 'uway' (from Davao's Term), they sell these bracelets and anklets for only 10-20 pesos, and you can request for a customization for 20 pesos. The bags are sold to 200 pesos, and I would say, they have quality products.

I would also want to get the real score about making them as stakeholders from creating these types of native and cultured accessories , since we all know , people in the urban sites are very particular with these kind of accessories. I KNOW, that the Government can give their support about this matter. This is a very simple idea that is need to apply.

Once again, people who lived their need money and development. There are tourists, trekkers and other visitors who like to go there, but the service fees the get from them are not enough to sustain their basic need because these are just seasonal.

To the Family of 'Jay ar', (the one squatting, wearing white shirt and yellow basketball short at the center in the picture, he was one of our tour guides to Bani Falls), thank you very much for your patience, despite of all risks and dangerous moments, you have been so helpful, generous and patient to all of us. You are an inspiration to everyone. See you around, when we see you again. That was a very unforgettable experience, and we realized of not coming back. Hahaha

I, thank you. More power and God bless us all!
