Proud of Being Poor?

"I am proud of being poor!" - we always hear this statement, implying that one is not ashamed of being poor. This statement contains a strong message that may determine the value of being a proud individual who experiences poverty and the lack of material things that are supposedly available and visible inside a house - it delivers the message to never be ashamed of who you are and what you only have, instead be proud because you are alive and enjoying the gift of life. Powerful! But, let me give my views on this. If we are to reconsider our previous life, back when the time that everything seemed to be perfect for our wants and needs, back when the days we were thinking about those things that we had were enough for our physiological needs, we were contented.  Furthermore, as time goes, as our age is numbered, the level of our needs and wants increase. We may still be earning the same amount of sources and income but we will look for something that is new, s

So, it's Kadayawan sa Davao, 2018. Of course, part of me being a "Dabawenyo", don't wanna miss out the wonderful kadayawan experience.  I just started enjoying the experience on a Friday night with Bamboo in Kadayawan Square. The next day was 'supposedly' a live serenade experience from ABS-CBN's Tawag ng Tanghalan Artists in Almendras Gym. Someone gave me VIP Tickets for two. When inside, the host set an expectation that the artists were coming. Everyone was excited. However, later on the show, after making us all wait for the said artists, the host announced that the artists cannot celebrate with us due to one circumstance - super DELAYED FLIGHT. The host said that he received a confirmation from Star Magic that they will cancel the appointment and just postpone it to some other day. Everyone was VERY disappointed. Got out from the venue immediately while the host was on stage asking for our understanding. Until the venue became empty from crowds

I am a Christian. What's the difference between me and you?

I am a Christian, basically we are (all) Christians as we are sons of God. But what's the difference between me and you? I'll start with the other one... Him, as a Christian, is someone who has Godly friends - boring people, boring activities like discussing about God, life, reading the Bible, sharing one another's story. Him, as a Christian is now someone who is not a party goer, never a drunkard of alcoholoc drinks, never chases men and women, always so serious about the job he does, never knows how to laugh out with funny jokes around him. He never plays with love stories, he is a worshipper of God, he comes to Church every Sunday or once a week, he joins to a life group, he has boring friends as well, he seldom sings songs from popular artists in the world, he defines GOODNESS as the essence of True Love, he shares God with other, he shares his life before and after he knew of Jesus, he has great stories about Jesus. He is a boring person... a boring person to be wi

The Promise Comes by Faith

Today, I am going to share the words that God has been spoken towards me. Specifically about the promise that He prepared, not just for me , but for everyone whose faith is unbreakable. The Commandment of God In Romans 6:13, it says there, "do not offer the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness..." As human as we are, according to the Book of Romans, Chapter 6, our body is weak and is prone to sin at any situation, we should be aware of that, we have to take note and put it in our minds that sin should not be our master. One thing that we can do is to avoid ourselves to those things, places, or even people that will lead us to sin and become slaves to sin. The Bible clearly says, "when we try to do good, evil is right there with is" (Romans 7:21). That's why we should always be

My Encounter with God - A Personal Testimony

Image
What's the difference between the two pictures in this collage?  The pictures might don't have a big difference as it shows only me smiling together with my friends and this is going to be my own version of "before and after" photo challenge... The truth is,  the first picture ( below) is showing my face who was actually drunk with beer and was so pathetic begging my friends to just go home and sleep. On the other picture (above), a face who seemingly a very happy person after God has shown His love and revealed His presence on me - it's an unexplainable feeling that nothing can compare. That when I finally finished college.  Allow me to share to you my personal testimony about how did God pulled me back to His hands in an unpredicted situation . Remembering back many years ago, it was, if I'm not mistaken,  2010, when I knew about who Jesus is to me. I even posted it to somewhere in one of my social media accounts about that experience.

Trabahanteng Estudyante. In English, Working Student. I'd like to share my story, this may be a bit long, but the purpose for this is to inspire others... Quote: "Financial crisis is NOT really the reason why an 'out-of-School-youth' exists, but it is a personal choice NOT to go to School. Financial crisis is NOT an excuse why an individual cannot go to college, because our ability to think properly is the one that we have in order for us to sustain our decisions, specially when we are thinking about how to start and how to end our chosen destination. Going to college is not an easy thing when you know from the very beginning that no one can support you even your family, but you have a choice to really go or just let this issue stops you. Life is a matter of choice, life is what we make it, we create our own destination." - Elly *** Lumaki at namulat ako sa katotohanang kami ay mahirap. Pero noong panahon, masaya ang buhay, kontento sa kun

Hi, everyone! There's no doubt, summer is really coming and fast approaching, but it's still yet to come this year 2018. Today, I'll be sharing my "pre-summer" vacay, or let's just say a travel trip for just a matter of one day, a "byaheng Bukidnon" together with sqaud and travel partners having really no large money. :) By the way, my friends/classmates and I are actually waiting our Graduation day, that would be on April 20, 2018, and you know, while we are waiting on that big day of our lives, we just got to think about releasing our college stresses, and part of doing such is to travel anywhere, I mean anywhere that will describe how wonderful God's creation is, specifically nature. If you're actually planning to refresh your minds, then going to mountains, waterfalls and trekking can be good ideas to help your mind cool down, and that would also depend how strong your physical strength is, your stamina and your guts. hahaha

We have been in the days of persecution which came to such a point of losing one another. We've been tested and some people mocked us because as they say we can't make it. But we continued, we never find that endpoint of our ways to stop the walking, because we chose to go to the direction where a lot of thorns, muddy  and dusts are present to hinder us from getting into the finishing lane. We've heard of the saying that "life is a competition", but it's the only competition tha t does not requires us to go first, but it requires us to finish the race together with one another regardless if the others are ahead of us.  Look at us now! Look at how God made an arrangement for everyone. God's ways and plans are purely perfect that no one has the idea how to live on it.   In the coming days, we are about to face something they call, "reality", and it's the day after graduation. Well, the reality is what make it, and
